Resurrection Trail near Exit Glacier
About 2 hours total trip time. We depart Seward and take a scenic drive to nearby Chugach National Forest. After taking in views of Exit Glacier, we park at the trail head of Resurrection River Trail. This relatively flat, flowing section of “wide” single track offers fantastic views of Resurrection River and the soaring peaks that hold back the Harding Ice Field. This trail boarders Kenai National Park, and we have excellent opportunities for viewing bear, moose, beavers, and bald eagles. Easy to moderate riding.

Historic Iditarod Trail
About a 3 hour tour. Departing Seward, we take a short drive on the Seward Hwy, a National Scenic Byway to the yet to be marked Iditarod Trail. Since this was originally a “winter trail” for dog sled teams, it connects several mountain lakes. Moose often feed on the aquatic plants and they are always truly amazing to watch. We’ll stop for lunch before we return. Moderate to challenging.

Johnson’s Pass Trail
3 to 6 hours, depending on group ability and desire. Johnson’s pass is a little further (about a 30 min drive), but very much worth it. This is also part of the Historic Iditarod Trail. Considered by many riders to be the best trail in all of south central Alaska, Johnson Pass has it all. Winding single track through hemlock forests transitions to the flora of an alpine valley. Stunning mountains dotted with alpine glaciers rise on either side of the trail. We pass several salmon spawning streams, and will see signs of bear activity. After a stop by Johnson Lake for lunch, we begin our long decent back to the trail head. Moderate to challenging.
1 to 3 people $140/person 4+ People $115/person
Devil’s Pass Trail
4 to 6 hours. Less than an hour from Seward is Devil’s Pass Trail. We’ll drive the Seward Highway to the trail head and begin the climb to the pass. While the trail climbs toward the pass, riders are soon rewarded with unparalleled views of the surrounding mountains. The climb is long, but never unreasonably steep and mostly fairly smooth trail. Soon we reach the flat sections near the summit. Since tree line is at a much lower elevation here in Alaska, we will spend much of the time surrounded by alpine flower meadows. We’ll take our time getting to the top where we’ll take in the views, snap some photos, spot mountain goats on the cliffs, have lunch, and head back. You’ll enjoy having disc brakes on the long descent back to the vehicle. Moderate to challenging.
